This silver birch tree had been reduced to just above ground level after it had become unstable. The problem was, it left quite a stump sticking out of the ground and that was leaving the possibility of regrowth. Not only that, it was also a bot of a trip-hazard in an open plan garden such as this.
So here we are again reducing the stump to below ground level and negating the chance of regrowth - allowing for re-turfing, in the process.
