Being planted so close to the driveway and buildings means that these Poplars would always have to have been removed at some point. Sad to see them go but Poplar roots can be so destructive. The root system is incredibly strong, allowing the trees to grow 80+ feet. The trees consume vast quantities of water, adding to instability.
