Felling a Dead Silver Birch

This old silver birch was in danger of toppling over and it was probably only the ivy holding it up.

With access on the difficult side and a very unstable trunk, the only real option was to bring in a cherry-picker and take the trunk down in stages.

Not the quickest way to dispose of a dead tree but in this case it was the safest for property and people.
