We'd much sooner have been trimming this old eucalyptus tree back but having already dropped some limbs, the wisest thing was to fell it completely before it did any damage to people or property.

Eucalyptus trees are pretty easy to grow as long as they're in a sunny position. They do most of their growing in the first 10 years - after this it's worth pollarding to keep under control.
