They're cheap and easy to grow, they're a great barrier / privacy screen but boy do they cause problems once they get too large to manage with shears.
These conifers were causing some friction between neighbours, having got way out of hand. Let's face it, once they approach 6ft then it's going to be difficult to control them. At nearly 40ft these conifers had quite frankly become a real nuisance - over time they could easily have caused damage to foundations and become dangerous. Under clear skies (for change) we set about reducing the height and then removing the trees completely.
