An Invading Sycamore

The 'helicopters' (proper name: samaras) that drop from Sycamore trees can be blown across long distances - they can set quickly and become very well established in just a few years.

In this particular case the tree had barged its way into a hedge and feeling very much at home, had grown very large in the space of maybe 15-20 years. The problem was that it had created quite a large hole in this traditional hedgerow on the outskirts of nottingham.

Having carefully reduced the tree, we set to work with our stump grinder to ensure there could be no regrowth. All in all a pretty good days work.
