Showing signs of decline by dropping limbs - poplars have a relatively short life compared to other trees and aren't really suited to urban environments or small spaces, because of this. In a forest or the countryside, dropping limbs like this would go more or less unnoticed and the tree would eventually die off completely.

With recent stormy weather the problem had grown even more acute so it was time to get moving.

We couldn't take the risk of larger limbs dropping as they'd already caused some damage to property and so the trees were removed completely.
