Pollarding Oak Trees

It's probably a good job we got to these Oak trees before the stormy weather came along

With one or two limbs already dropped, these grand old oaks were in need of pollarding i.e. just a little care and attention.

Being close to public areas, it's important to stay on top of these trees - they're not exactly ancient but certainly needed reducing a little and in a year or two the pollarding process will have proved to be well worthwhile, as new growth comes through.
