Looking a bit sorry for itself, this Sycamore tree was being propped up by its neighbours.
The only safe approach was to bring in the cherry picker and carefully remove limbs before working on the trunk.
Sycamores can self-set very easily and grow large very quickly so when they die off they're usually pretty big. Always keep an eye out for them growing on your land and if they're in the wrong place - get to them before they become a handful.
