This big old beechtree was at the point where some careful maintenance was required to keep it manageable.

Common beech trees can reach well over 30m in height and spread up to 25m so it's imperative to keep on top of them or things could easily get out of hand.

In this case, the tree is very strong and healthy so it was a case of checking and tidying up.
